Reino da Lira
The kingdom of seduction, art and sovereign desire. Lyra is the cabaret of the spirits — gold-lit, perfumed, demanding. It governs beauty, magnetism, the dignity of pleasure and the sharp politics of love.
The Lira is the proper kingdom of the Pomba Giras. Where other kingdoms work in austerity, this one demands abundance — silk, mirror, perfume, music. Beauty here is not vanity but a discipline; pleasure is not idleness but a tool of negotiation.
The kingdom rules love, the marketplace, art, performance, and any human transaction in which charm decides the outcome. Its workings can be tender or merciless. It does not distinguish between the two.
Queen of the Kingdom
The undisputed sovereign of the Lira. She rules love, autonomy, beauty and the politics of desire.
Queen of the Seven Lyras
Patron of artists, performers and all who live by their voice. She protects those whose work is to be seen.
The Gypsy
Wanderer of the kingdom. She brings fortune, foresight and sudden, transformative passion.
The Magician of the Lira
Companion to the queens. He governs the negotiations and contracts that beauty alone cannot close.
Offerings are arranged in beauty. Cheap or dirty materials are an insult to the kingdom. Delivered on Fridays after sundown, at a discreet crossroads or beneath a streetlamp.
The worker bathes, dresses with care, and wears perfume. The kingdom is not entered slovenly.
Laroyê Maria Padilha! Saravá as Sete Liras! — spoken with the same care one would offer a queen in audience.
A polished mirror is set on the altar, framed by red and gold candles. It is the kingdom's primary instrument.
The sigil is drawn in red chalk or in lipstick on a small dark tile. It must always include a stylized rose or a crown.
Each element is named, presented in beauty, and placed on the altar with both hands.
The request is spoken with dignity and frankness. The kingdom answers vague flattery with vague results.
The mirror is covered with a red cloth and the candles are allowed to burn out. The petitioner does not look in any mirror until they have slept.
The Work of Attraction
Red roses, honey and a personal item are arranged before a mirror. The request is spoken in the first person; the mirror is then covered for seven nights.
The Crown of the Lyra
A long consecration for those who work professionally with beauty, art or performance. Maria Padilha is honored for seven Fridays with growing offerings.
Offering of Seduction
Sparkling wine, red roses, lipstick and gold candles are placed at a discreet crossroads on a Friday at midnight. Used for matters of magnetism and visibility.
A Spirit-Led Divination
Under the guidance of Pomba Gira Cigana, a card or palm reading is performed. The kingdom answers obliquely; the worker must listen closely.
